The Cardiacs are famous for their fusion of punk rock and British progressive rock which produces a unique and complex sound.
First formed in 1977 by brothers Tim Smith (lead singer) and Jim Smith (bass, backing vocals) with Kavus Torabi (guitar, backing vocals) and Bob Leith (drums, backing vocals), the band has released a total of 10 studio albums.
The Cardiacs' most recent release was a new single on November 5, 2007 with a new album expected in the new year. The single is titled "Ditzy Scene" and features the tracks "Ditzy Scene", "Gen" and "Made All Up".
