China At Harewood East Bedroom

Throughout 2008, Harewood House is celebrating a long standing connection with the arts of China with the 'China At Harewood' exhibition.

The highlight of the event will be the East Bedroom which has been re-hung with a stunning Chinese wallpaper dating back to 1769 Described by experts as "possibly the finest example of Chinese wallpaper anywhere in the World" this ‘lost’ wallpaper was found in the Carpenter’s Workshop and will now be on show for everyone to see.

Other features include a range of events such as dragon boat racing, kite flying and a Chinese culture day. Two Chinese contemporary artists, Fiona Wong and Wilson Shieh, will be exhibiting new work in the Terrace Gallery from 17th May to 3rd August.
