Leeds Museum Discovery Centre
July 14th 2008 22:10
The Leeds Discovery Centre houses Leeds’ enormous cache of collections held by Leeds Museums and Galleries. A total of one million objects, from the mundane to the spectacular, are one show at the venue formerly known as the Museum Resource Centre.
What makes the centre so unique is that they encourage visitors to interact with the objects, whether by handling or sketching them, or being inspired by their stories.
This fascinating collection is housed in a state-of-the-art storage facility/building which opened in July 2007. Its location at the Clarence Dock near the city centre makes the Discovery Centre very accessible by schools, educational groups and researchers.
