Ruddigore: The Terrifying Tale of the Witches Curse
March 4th 2008 08:45
'Ruddigore: The Terrifying Tale of the Witches Curse' tells the story of Robin Oakapple, a shy, retiring farmer living in the Cornish village of Rederring, who seeks to woo pretty Rose Maybud. Little does Rose know that he is in fact the Baronet of Ruddigore (living incognito to avoid the family curse). When Robin’s foster brother Richard falls in love with Rose he reveals Robin’s true identity. Forced to renounce Rose, Robin assumes his title and with it the curse. With a picture gallery of dead ancestors who have come to life to torment him, Robin's troubles are only just beginning…
Sparkling tunes and a thrilling story make this one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most delightful comic operas.
